Shuntavi in September

Shuntavi started off September at Sean at Sean and Christy's wedding on the Hudson. She got to spend time with her friend Aidan again.

She spent more time on the dance floor shaking her legs than anyone else...honest, she did!

Both her and her daddy collapsed after the party and could barely get up the next morning.

Despite all this fun, the best thing for Shuntavi about going to New York was getting to spend the day before the wedding with Aunt Sara and Duncan. Duncan helped Tavi get her look just right for the party.

After New York she spent many nice long days with her momma exploring the city, going to singing groups, and making friends. Here is one of her best friends, Luna.

Daddy was so busy this month but he got to see her for 1-2 hrs on most nights. He she is after having fun with bathtime.

As the warm weather started to go away, the family took one last trip to Walden for a swim. Despite the cold, Shuntavi wanted to get some more swim practice in before winter.

She also had her last summer peach--she loves anything with peaches.

She's got so many boys in her life. Some of her favorites are Theo, Asher, and Ariel.

Even though Shuntavi means "Coyote Rock" she seems to enjoy dressing up like a bear. Shuntavi...Halloween isn't for another month, silly.

Her daddy tries to instill her coyote and wolf nature back into her as part of her bedtime sleeping ritual.

She is getting bigger and is ready to be in the Big Girl Stroller. She has been going on runs with her momma.

She also likes to eat like an adult. She feeds herself most of the time and refuses anything we try to stick in her mouth.

Fo Yom Kippur Shuntavi got to she her aunt Sara, her great grandparents, her grammie B and her B-Pa.

Being with her family makes her so happy.

A busy month for Shuntavi and family

Lots of changes and decisions this month...my mom left her job and we've had lots of fun together. I got roseola and was a bit grumpy for a week but am feeling better now. I'm almost sleeping through the night (my parents seem so excited about this) and really love to eat tomatoes, peaches, and corn fresh from the farm. Oh yeah, watermelon too!

It's been a while since I've posted my blog so there's lots to tell you about. At the end of July, we took a trip to NYC for grandpa neal's son's wedding. Everyone says that NYC is so amazing but the best part of being there for me was seeing my grandparents, my aunt, my great-aunt, and my great-grandparents.

On August 3rd, I became the official mascot for mom and dad's ultimate frisbee team. It was a long hot day for a tournament but we survived.

After that, we spent 4 days next to the National Seashore with Grandpa Danny and Grandma Sara. The waves scared me a bit but I had a great time overall. I hope we go again next year.

After our vacation our family had some busy workdays so we tried to catch some rest and put our head down whenever we could find a pillow.

This weekend, we kicked back and enjoyed some new england treasures...peaches, tomatoes, lake swimming. Hmmmm, I love summer.
See you soon on my next blog! love, Shuntavi

Shuntavi tries new food and stands up too!

During these last 2 weeks Shuntavi tries several new foods. Following brown rice cereal mixed with warm breast milk, she quickly added to her diet natural favorites like banana, avocado, sweet potato, and apple sauce. Eating is a full body experience. It can become quite messy but it is so fun!

Check her out in this video eating with her uncle Josh (aka Uncle Gock).

She was considering trying lobster, but we're going to stay with mushy foods for awhile.

She also has started to practice standing. See her here in her training chair.

In this next video she dances with her Olivier family.

Shuntavi went to concert with her family and a professional photographer saw her and felt compelled to do a photoshoot. Check out these 2 pictures.

Summer Fun with Shuntavi

Back at home, Shuntavi spends her time napping, playing, taking walks with her parents, seeing friends, and doing yoga with her mamma.

Now on her 4th day of solid foods (although solids doesn't so accurately describe the consistency of this thin mixture of brown rice cereal and breast milk), she is intrigued by this change in her life.

For the 4th of July, Shuntavi showed her patriotic spirit while hangin' with the GPs (Laura, Julien, Asher, Ariel) at the pond in Blue Hills.
She swung on her first swing!

Summer Travels with Tavi

As many of you have already heard, our trip to the Adirondacks was a flop.
(We mean this literally, the hammock actually fell from the trees.)

As the temperature dropped down to 36 F each night, we got cozy together in the tent.

Then the wire to the alternator failed, almost leaving us stranded for days in the middle of the Adirondacks. Thanks to a ranger named Dick with a big hammer and a Surestart jumper kit, we got going and were told to drive until we reached home. This video was taken with the engine running, while we took a brief break to pee. Here is our home grown version of peak-a-boo.

The short circuit in the alternator wire gave us the opportunity to short circuit our adventure without having to sacrifice our reputation for wilderness survival. We thus enjoyed a fantastic, relaxing, "do nothing," gourmet, warm and sunfilled, spa-like week with grandpa and grandma (aka tootsie). Shuntavi had fun in the pool with her parents.

She loved being with her Grandpa and her Tootsie. Grandpa could get her to laugh on cue.

We call this video: "Being Shuntavi Jane"

She adores her Tootsie who held her and gave her father a haircut (thanks tootsie:)

Shuntavi had fun getting a bath in Tootsie's kitchen sink!

Finally it got really warm and she got dressed up for summer!
